The facts about... Wedge Absorbers"
These are a two sided pyramid shape unlike a normal pyramid which has four sides. The reason for a Wedge absorber is to give greater mass of absorbing material, in actual fact it gives about 20% more mass.

The Global EMC offer GDS-W pyramidal Wedge absorbers which give enhanced performance at lower and mid range frequencies.


GDS-W absorber system has c20% greater mass than a standard 4 sided pyramid and so has increased performance making this system ideal for:


  1. MIL STD 461 anechoic chambers, 16″ (400mm) is enough to meet the requirements at 80MHz – 18GHz
  2. RF anechoic chambers where measurement accuracy is required above 100MHz, a 20″ (500mm) version will give >–17dB @ 100MHz and above.
  3. Increases space in smaller chambers and reduces costs.

Anechoic Wedge absorber

The GDS-W system is ideal for applications above 100MHz without the use of ferrite tiles.


A chamber lined with GDS-700W will comply to IEC/EN61000.4.3 at 80MHz-6GHz (with some ferrite tile + hybrid at the centre of the floor)

The GDS-W is fully compliant to the fire safety standard NRL8093 parts I,II & III and is zero halogen


Caution

This product has performance limitations of c-40dB @10GHz + due to increased flat surfaces and so is not suitable for high microwave free space chambers where accuracy of >-50dB+ is required (antenna measurement applications etc)
