There are different aspects to vehicle testing: Radio work, full vehicle testing, component testing, military vehicle testing etc.
Vehicle testing is often done in EMC test chambers as CISPR16-1-4 meets all vehicle test environments, for large vehicle testing 10m separation EMC chambers are often used.
If the vehicle engine is to be run then high volume cooling and engine fume extraction is required.
There are basically 4 different types of vehicle radiated EMC testing: Full vehicle, component & harness test, military vehicle and Radio work.
Global EMC have:
Good experience in all four vehicle test chamber types.
The ability to do turnkey test facilities including: turntable/mast/controllers, rolling road (rolling bench) engine fume extract, high volume air cooling, fire detection/suppression, integrated systems with fire detection and vent closures.
Sliding doors and swinging door systems with manual and auto operation.
The ability to provide any automotive test requirement.
Engine cooling to 200Kw wild heat and beyond.
Whole vehicle with ‘hot engine’ running
CISPR25 component/harness chambers with test benches
Military vehicles including tracked tanks
Chambers for small engines (motorcycles, generators, lawnmowers etc), these are normally EMC 3m CISPR16-1-4 compliant chambers
