A shielded door is often the weak link in the chamber overall performance because it has to make and break the faraday cage electrically.
Because all doors have electrically bonding seals there will always be a requirement for some seal maintenance (cleaning).
When a door becomes too large for manual operation then pneumatic/electric/hydraulic actuators can be used.
There are basically three types of doors: single swinging doors, double swinging doors and sliding doors.
Single swinging doors can be made up to about 1.5m wide and 2.5m high.
Double doors can be any size but need to be energised if larger than 3.5m x 3.5m in size.
Sliding doors are expensive but can be any size.
