SHIELDING FABRIC (conductive cloth/material/fleece)

Global EMC offer a range high quality shielding fabrics which have specific uses:


Type 1 –light /flexible/highly conductive

Application – flexible shielding in products/chambers. Global EMC have used this                       product for many years in shielded tent construction

Construction –
base fabric (woven) + silver + copper + nickel

Conductivity –
circa 20 milliohm/square

Shield capability (MIL285) circa -60-80dB @ 0.1-3000MHz+ Electric and far field

Thickness –
50 micron (0.05mm)

Temp range –
-30 to 90 degrees C

 

Type 2 – Heavy/thick/high shielding capability

Application – Heavy duty shield for walls, can be used for gasket

Construction –
Polyester felt type substrate + copper + Nickel

Conductivity –
<20 milliohm/square

Shield capability – 90-100dB @ 0.1- 3000MHz+

Thickness – 250 micron (0.25mm)

 

Type 3 – Self adhesive (PSA) and highly conductive

Application – ‘Stick on’ shield for chambers and products

Construction –
Nylon + silver + copper + nickel

Conductivity – circa 20 milliohm/square

Shield capability –
60-80dB

Thickness –
c150 micron (0.15mm)

 

Type 4 - Fire retardant to UL94-V0

Application – Building shielding or other uses where FR is needed

Construction – Polyester + copper + nickel + FR backing

Conductivity – 50-70 milliohm/square

Shield capability –
60-80dB


SHIELDED DOOR SYSTEMS

Global EMC offer 5 basic door types in any size.
The doors can be manually operated, semi automatic or fully automatic:


1) A lower cost -80dB system
(for electric and far field shielding)
2) A -100dB steel door system
(as per ‘system 7000’)
3) A -130dB double knife door
(as per ‘hyper-shield’)
4) A sliding door system
(as per ‘system 7000’)
5) A sliding door system
(as per ‘hyper-shield’)


1) ‘E Shield’ Door –

circa 75% less in cost than a steel door but yet fulfils the same function provided only medium performance is required. Ideal for GSM/Bluetooth/Antenna cal chambers. The door is very easy to use and has no maintenance requirements flexible shielding in products/chambers. Global EMC have used this product for many years in shielded tent construction

 

 

 

2) System 7000 Door –

This is a high performance steel door capable of -60dB@10KHz in the magnetic field to -100dB@18GHz (see photograph of ‘System 7000’ in shielding section)

 

 


3) ‘Hyper-shield’ Door system –

This system is extremely high in shield performance: 82dB@10KHz, >130dB@1GHz and >105dB@18GHz. (see photograph of ‘Hyper-shield’ in shielding section)

 


4) System 7000 sliding door system –

This system can be manual or pneumatic actuated latching system, the ‘X’ and ‘Y’ motion can be auto or manual. The ‘X’ motion (to and from the chamber) can be designed to suit anechoic absorber clearance.


5) Hyper-shield sliding door system –

As above but with higher shield performance.


SHIELDED VENTILATION PANELS (Honeycomb type)

There are 2 types of ventilation panels available from Global EMC:



Single honeycomb –

This product has a steel 12.5mm deep x 3.2mm cell honeycomb matrix which is edge soldered into a steel mounting frame.
The honeycomb matrix

This ventilation panel will give a high level of shielding:

-60dB@10KHz in the magnetic field
-100dB@100KHz in the magnetic field
>-100dB 1-500MHz in the electric field
>-100dB 1-18GHz in the far field1) ‘E Shield’ Door –

Double honeycomb –

As above but with 2 layers set at 90 degrees with both edge and dip soldering, this premium product is used where extreme levels of shielding are required:

>-80dB@10KHz in the magnetic field
>-110dB@100KHz to 30MHz in the magnetic field
>-110dB@1-500MHz in the electric field
>-130dB@1GHz in the far field
>-120dB@10-18GHz in the far field
